Dear College of Environmental Design EAP Reciprocity Student, We are pleased to welcome you to the College of Environmental Design. Please read the following information carefully. Important Resources The current Schedule of Classes and General Catalog are available on the web as links from Bear Facts. The College of Environmental Design web site is www.ced.berkeley.edu. Selection of Courses Some of you have already been approved for enrollment in studio courses. The CED Undergraduate Advising office will give you a course entry code (CEC) for the studio course you have been assigned. Call (510) 642-4942 when you arrive in Berkeley and we will provide you with this code. When selecting courses, it is important that you determine whether or not you have sufficient background preparation. Look up each course in the General Catalog, read the course description, and note any course prerequisites. Also, as necessary look up the course descriptions of the prerequisite courses to help you determine whether or not you have already covered the prerequisite subjects. See also the course enrollment section of the EAP Reciprocal Exchange Pre-Arrival information page. If you need advice on whether or not a particular course is at the right level for you, contact the course instructor. Note: The schedule of classes includes names of the course instructors, and the "People" heading on the CED website links to contact information for CED faculty. Enrollment You will receive an email directly from the University of California Education Abroad Program informing you about registration procedures. You are required to enroll in at least 12 units each semester. Some of your proposed courses may be unavailable for the academic year or may already be full when you try to enroll. Before using the Tele-BEARS registration system, please be prepared to select alternate courses to those you sent with your EAP application. While you may put your name on the wait lists for courses that are full, there is no guarantee that you will get in, and you should enroll in additional courses as alternates. Advising Your primary contact concerning course enrollment is CED Undergraduate Services Manager Susan Hagstrom in 232 Wurster Hall. Susan can be reached by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by telephone at (510) 642-0408. We hope you have a wonderful experience while you are here, and we look forward to meeting you. Sincerely, Susan Hagstrom |
