Transfer Students

Evaluation of Transfer Work

To make your transition to UC Berkeley as smooth as possible, it is important for you to know which degree requirements you have already satisfied and which courses you should take during your first semester here. Any lower-division requirement not completed before transfer must be completed in order to graduate.

Note: Your admission as a junior transfer student does not mean that all of your lower-division requirements have been completed. Your admission to the College of Environmental Design was based upon a preliminary evaluation of your coursework — any courses not articulated at a California community college must be officially evaluated to determine whether they satisfy CED requirements.

We will evaluate your transfer credit for satisfaction of degree requirements after we receive the information requested below:

  • As soon as possible (by July 15 at the latest), you must request that current official transcripts in sealed envelopes from all colleges/universities you have attended be sent to the below address. (PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR SPRING GRADES TO BE POSTED. HAVE THE TRANSCRIPTS SENT NOW WITH SPRING GRADES MISSING.) Please note that transcripts sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will not reach us; and transcripts sent to us will not reach the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Therefore, you must have separate transcripts sent as instructed by both offices.

  • If you completed any non-articulated coursework (meaning that it does not show on ASSIST as satisfying a CED requirement), you must also send a detailed course description and syllabus.

Your electronic degree audit (DARS) will reflect our official evaluation of your coursework.

The above items should be sent to:

Choosing Your First-Semester Courses

Landscape Architecture Majors
