Plotting at CED

If you have any questions or are having difficulty plotting, come by rm. 477 and ask for help. We get swamped before a big pin-up, so give yourself plenty of time.

Requirements

  • Max plotting width is 36".
  • Embed all of your images.
  • Lab and studio plotters do not plot full-bleed (edge to edge).
  • The plotters will have memory issues when length >= 85".
  • Paper type: HP Bright White Inkjet Paper.
  • DPI: between 150 dpi min and 200 dpi max.

Warnings

  • Try to rasterize your vectors. This isn't always possible for a line heavy file, like a topo map. If Illustrator struggles with your detailed topo, the plotter will crash.

  • Plotting errors happen. Give yourself at least 1 hour to correct any mistakes and plot your boards. Keep in mind, many students plot at the last minute.
