Raymond L. Watson Best Project Prize Endowment Fund Print

This award is sponsored by Raymond Watson, who graduated from the architecture department in 1951 with a B.A. degree and in 1953 with the master's degree. Mr. Watson is currently vice-chairman of the Irvine Company in Newport Beach. The Best Project Prize is given to undergraduate students whose projects "connect the practice of architecture to a larger body of knowledge beyond that imparted by the architecture curriculum."

Projects must have been completed as one of the assignments in ENV DES 11A or 11B rather than created specifically for the award. Decisions are based on which projects best meet the goals of the award, not on which students are the best in the ENV DES classes. Award amounts are typically $2,000.
