History of Wurster Hall Print

Wurster Hall, built in 1964, was designed by three architecture faculty — Joseph Esherick, Vernon DeMars, and Donald Olsen.

Wurster Hall is the only building on the UC Berkeley campus named for two people: William Wilson Wurster, a distinguished architect and first dean of the college, and his wife, Catherine Bauer Wurster, a professor of City and Regional Planning and leader in the field of public housing.
