This past year has been an exciting one for the Environmental Design Archives. The Archives reinstated its benefit event program with an "Art Farm Ramble" at Runnymede Sculpture Farm in Woodside, California. Attracting more than 165 guests, the afternoon affair raised $21,000 to support the archival program and operations.
In addition to this fundraising activity, the Archives has developed a new membership and advocacy group called the Friends of the Archives. Many new "Friends" were made at Runnymede, and during this summer and fall, the Archives honored all new memberships committed between May and September 2006 as "Founding Friends." In addition to this special offer, the Archives dedicated ten percent of each new Friends membership to the Lifchez/Archives Endowment, a generous gift of $50,000 from Professor Ray Lifchez. You can show your support of the Archives and its mission to collect, preserve, promote, and provide access to the primary source documentation of Northern California's built environment by joining the Friends.
