Assistant Professor of Architecture Lisa Iwamoto was one of eleven Next Generation runners-up, as named by Metropolis Magazine in April 2006. The Next Generation awards were established in 2003 to "recognize and encourage activism, social involvement, and entrepreneurship among designers." The 2006 award recognized "Big Ideas" to make our living environment more sustainable.
