Eligibility: M.Arch students beginning thesis prep The Branner is a 12-month fellowship starting in December, that is to be used during or before the final year in the M.Arch program. It should be used to explore a particular architectural question or issue that may later be expanded as a thesis. Students are expected to apply at the start of the semester during which they would be taking thesis prep. This may not be true in the case of students in joint programs or students who are out of sequence, but in any case, you may only apply for the Branner once. France and Italy must be included in the itinerary. Submission Requirements - (1 Hard Copy & 1 Electronic Copy) : * Portfolio (consisting of no more than 12 double/24 single-sided sheets no larger than 11"x17") * Statement of Intent (500 words on one page) * Detailed Intinerary (must include France & Italy) * Research Paper (relating to architecture in a major area, 10 page minimum) Registration and Eligibility Form Notes: * All submitted work must have been done while registered in the UC Berkeley M.Arch program. * Portfolio must comply with Department of Architecture Portfolio Rules. * Graduate thesis work may not be submitted as part of the portfolio.
