Friesen Prize for Best Paper in Urban Studies

Prize: $500
Eligibility: Undergraduate student at UC Berkeley

Established through a gift by the Friesen family, this $500 prize is given each year to the best research, theory, or policy and planning analysis paper completed in an Urban Studies course. Paper submissions must be nominated by Urban Studies faculty (no more than three submissions per faculty member). The prize is open to all undergraduate students in all majors currently enrolled at UC Berkeley. Papers are evaluated in a blind review process by the Urban Studies committee.

Application Process: Submit your paper with a cover sheet with your name, faculty sponsor, signature of faculty sponsor, and the 2007 course for which the paper was completed.

Deadline: April 7, 2008
