Architecture 140: Energy and Environmental Management, is the flagship course of our building science program and our largest offering. It provides undergraduates and graduates with an introduction to the issues of physical building performance. Over the years, the course has presented the fundamentals of building science while recognizing the evolving nature of building technologies, energy efficiency, ecology and responsible design.

This site will serve as a repository and guide for matters 140. The most useful sections include:

The Syllabus wherein you will find a concise, chronological accounting of lecture topics, section agendas and your homework assignments.

Our This Week page provides a rolling, reverse chronology description of what's up in Arch. 140 each week. Stop by this page for a timely, and occasionally chatty, description of where we are in time and space. This would be a dandy page to bookmark as your entry point to the ARCH 140 www site.

The People page provides short biographic information and contact information for your instructors as well as pointers to time and place for section meetings and office hours.

In the Documents section you will find copies of your homework assignments, explorations, section exercises, and design project. While these are printable, we encourage you to keep them digital and save a tree. We are working this semester on migrating the non-proprietary sections of the reader to the course WWW site.

The Resources section will be your gateway to reading lists, computer programs, www links, and the like.

The Discussion Page is the place for you to post any questions or comments you have regarding material covered and issues raised in 140. This part of the website will be up and running soon.

So there you go. We hope you find the site useful and, even more, that you use it regularly. Your comments for features, improvements, and corrections are most welcome. My e-mail address is in the footer of each page.
