SPECIAL EVENT - "Warped Architecture" by artist Verda Alexander at Zinc Details

San Francisco artist Verda Alexander transforms maps, urban grids, and architectural models into extreme and implausible views of urban environments in “Warped Architecture,” an exhibition of her latest work at the Zinc Details California Street location March 5 through April 30. A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the store. Vasilios Kiniris, B.Arch. '89, and Wendy Nishimura, B.Arch. '89, are co-founders of Zinc Details.

The 4th Annual California Water Symposium

This symposium presents results from graduate student research in hydrology applied to environmental restoration and conservation in California. It includes a panel discussion by experienced professionals, who will comment on the student research papers and the broader themes raised by their results. The symposium begins with a talk by a well-known authority on water issues. This year, B.J. Miller presents “ Science and Activism: Fish Protection in the Bay-Delta of California”. REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to deal with highly complex projects and
multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience with mid- to large-scale
commercial, institutional, academic, and urban-planning projects with an added focus in sustainability planning
strategies. They must be proficient in a variety of design visualization tools, including freehand and 2D and 3D
techniques (Form-Z is a plus). Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills are necessary.
This position requires a degree from an accredited architecture or design school. Professional licensing in the
design field and/or master's degree is preferred. Candidates should possess working knowledge of building
codes, standards, building systems, and LEED guidelines with a proven ability to monitor project tasks.
Candidates must be able to clearly communicate in writing, graphics, and public presentations. In addition, you
should be capable of working efficiently in both individual and team settings.
