The Berkeley Circus returns in 2012 to celebrate the work of CED's students and faculty, as well as the accomplishments of the greater CED community. We will open our doors to distinguished visitors, critics and alumni, provide opportunities for students to meet important figures in environmental design, and highlight the work of the 2012 Distinguished Alumni.

On Thursday, March 1, 2012, all CED classes will be cancelled for the Berkeley Circus — a full day of talks and reviews by faculty and students. All at CED are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to connect with alumni and learn about the wide variety of topics being explored by CED’s faculty and students. Undergraduate and graduate students interested in presenting or showing work at the Circus should submit proposals to their respective departments according to the Berkeley Circus Submittal Guidelines. Reviewed works are due to your department by Sunday, January 29, 2012 (deadline extended). Other works not up for review are due to your department by Monday, February 6, 2012.

The Circus continues Friday, March 2, 2012, with the Berkeley Circus Soirée at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. The evening will begin with the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony, followed by a talk by Van Jones, an award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean-energy economy. A reception in celebration of the achievements of CED students, faculty and alumni will conclude the evening.
