DCRP News

April 9, 2008

On the heels of winning UC Berkeley's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2006, Associate Professor of City and Regional Planning Ananya Roy has won UC Berkeley's 2008 Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching.

The Golden Apple Award is presented by the ASUC to honor those professors who teach with energy — inspiring, demonstrating passion, and showing care in the classroom. It is the only teaching award at UC Berkeley conferred by the students. The award is intended to recognize those teachers who consistently teach each lecture as if it were their last.

The winning teacher is asked to deliver his or her ideal last lecture in late April and is presented with a $2,000 cash prize. Professor Roy will deliver her lecture on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 7 p.m. in 155 Dwinelle Hall.

Congratulations, Ananya!
