Distinguished Teaching Award
Ananya Roy is the recipient of a 2006 Distinguished Teaching Award, the highest teaching honor UC Berkeley bestows on its faculty. This is the first time in the 57-year history of DCRP that a faculty member received the award; and the first in the College of Environmental Design in 2 decades. Distinguished Faculty Mentorship Award
Ananya Roy is also the recipient of a 2006 Distinguished Faculty Mentorship Award. This award is given to UC Berkeley faculty by the Graduate Assembly.
Golden Apple Teaching Award
Ananya Roy is the recipient of the 2008 Golden Apple Teaching Award. Bestowed by the student body at Cal, “the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching is presented to honor those professors who teach with energy — inspiring, demonstrating passion, and showing care in the classroom. It is the only teaching award at UC Berkeley conferred by the students. 2009 California Professor of the Year
Ananya Roy was named 2009 California Professor of the Year by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The awards recognize professors for their influence on teaching and their commitment to undergraduate students.
