About the Scholarships
The annual Judith Lee Stronach Undergraduate Travel Scholarships are an expression of the affection felt and received by the donors in the several decades during which they have been a part of the Wurster Hall community. It is an affection that is now best expressed and memorialized by offering undergraduate students within the College of Environmental Design the opportunity to engage in self-directed travel or service-learning opportunities around the world.
It is hoped that this opportunity will result in students furthering their education and sense of self through:
- exposure to places unknown and peoples unlike themselves;
- joining learning situations and settings from which they will find personal satisfaction while assisting others in ways that will enhance the human potential of those who inhabit the built environment; and
- initiating, where possible, the development of hands-on-projects that help advance change in the way people interact with the world around them.
