Apply: Requirements

Students must satisfy the following criteria in order to be eligible:

1. The Scholarships are open to undergraduates who are majoring in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Urban Studies in the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley.
2. Applicants must have at least one semester remaining before graduation upon completion of the proposed travel.
3. Applicants shall propose to enroll in a study abroad program offered either by the University of California or by an APPROVED independent vendor of Service Learning Programs Abroad.
4. Applicants can combine formal and independent travel.
5. An interview is required before travel takes place.
6. All students, including those enrolled in an Education Abroad Program (EAP), must have accident and sickness coverage. Include proof of insurance in your application.
7. JLS Travel Scholarship students are required to accept the University of California Waiver of Liability.
8. JLS scholarship can be awarded twice to the same person. (Max times to be awarded: 2 times per person.)
