January 17, 2007
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that our beloved Kaye Bock passed away in her sleep sometime during the early morning of January 16, 2007. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Kaye was 62. Words cannot express the tremendous grief and sorrow we all feel from this loss. Kaye was a warm, caring, kind-hearted person, the kind we all aspire to be. She was a tireless advocate for the interests of students and for many was like a mom away from home. She'll be dearly missed. A gathering to mourn the loss of Kaye was held January 17 in the Environmental Design Library. More than one hundred people—students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends—came together to give testament to the ways in which Kaye had touched our lives. We shared in our collective grief, comforted each other, and honored her memory. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kaye's children, David, Diana, and Debbie, her two grandchildren, and her many friends and loved ones. May she rest in peace. Robert Cervero |
