For competitive prizes and awards, recipients will be announced within 4 weeks of the specific prize/award submission deadline. Only selected recipients will be contacted with a notification of their award. For nominative prizes and awards, recipients will be notified in the weeks before the end of the academic year and departmental award ceremonies, where their award will be officially announced and given. Students may apply for as many awards as they wish, provided they are qualified. Please refer to the specific terms and requirements of each prize or award for more details regarding your qualification. Only complete submissions will be considered in the selection of recipients. Students may apply more than once to an award so long as they are qualified. Award opportunities with terms that refer only to a specific group of potential applicants (e.g., M.Arch. students in their thesis year) are without exception limited only to those applicants. Please speak with your department about your eligibility for nominative awards. You may ask your department or professors to consider nominating you for certain awards. A few awards administered by CED accept applicants or nominations from all UC Berkeley departments or faculty. Please review the awards lists for more information on these opportunities. If you have been notified that you are an award recipient, and you have not received your award by the date indicated in the notification, please follow up with the person who was your primary contact during the award application process.
