Blake Garden Kensington, California A 10.6-acre garden located just north of the UC Berkeley campus where students and the public can learn about plants and landscape design. Known for an outstanding collection of plants assembled by the Blake family between 1922 and 1962 and augmented by the Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning since acquisition of the garden by the University of California in 1957. Building Science Laboratory Center for the Built Environment Allows students, faculty, architects, and engineers to use scientific and engineering approaches to learn about and improve the quality of buildings. Cal Design Lab 501 Wurster Hall Cal Design Lab at Wurster is a collaborative project of UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design, Haas School of Business, and School of Information. Established in spring 2010, the lab is an experimental studio space where faculty and students can come together with others from across campus — entrepreneurs, information technologists, industrial designers, and engineers — to work on critical design challenges. Environmental Simulation Laboratory Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning A research facility that produces highly realistic visual simulations. The laboratory's animations and videos are used to measure subject responses to environments that do not exist but can only be created through controlled experiments. |
